Our Legacy

In 1950, amidst the mist-shrouded tea gardens of Assam, our family’s journey began—a tale woven from conviction, curiosity, and an enduring love for the land. The name 1950 Origins honors that pivotal year, a milestone that marked the start of a remarkable story driven by passion and perseverance. With each passing year, we evolved, innovated, and grew stronger, rooted in the traditions of the past while embracing the promise of the future.

The next chapter of leadership was led by Basudeo Kanoria, who built on his father's legacy and focused on innovation to drive growth. He accelerated infrastructure development & modern agricultural practices that set new standards of quality. Adarsh Kanoria carried forward the family legacy. He modernized operations by introducing advanced machinery, streamlining processes, and adopting sustainable practices like solar energy and resource efficiency.

Four Generations. One Legacy.

Our story began with Radhakisan Kanoria, a visionary first-generation pioneer whose heartfelt connection to the land laid the very foundation of our tea legacy. He believed in learning through careful observation and steady experimentation, demonstrating unwavering persistence that laid the groundwork for everything we continue to build today.

Four generations of learning have shaped the way we grow, select, and craft our teas. We've come to understand our land intimately—its rhythms, its needs, its gifts. This long-standing relationship gives us an edge: in consistency, ethics, and innovation. With decades of trust and trial behind us - we cultivate legacy.

Today, led by Aanvi Kanoria, 1950 Origins is a renewed expression of that same passion—crafted for a new generation of tea lovers. Her mission is to help people rediscover tea the way it’s meant to be—by embracing bold, fresh perspectives while staying true to the values that have guided her.
