Where are your teas sourced from?
At 1950 Origins, we select our teas from the top 2% of India’s premier tea gardens, harvested during the peak flush seasons when the leaves are at their most flavorful. Nestled in pristine regions with optimal climate and soil conditions, these gardens produce teas renowned for their depth, aroma, and distinctive character.
Using time-honored plucking methods, only the youngest two leaves and a delicate bud are carefully handpicked—capturing the pure essence of freshness and quality.

What steps does 1950 Origins take to ensure purity of its tea? (High-quality standards)
Every batch of our teas undergoes a rigorous, dual testing process. Initially, each sample we source is subjected to over 112 detailed tests in third-party NABL accredited laboratories.
Our comprehensive safety checks include screening for:
• Banned chemicals
• Pesticide residues
• Heavy metals
• Artificial flavors and colors
• Physical impurities
Any sample that fails to meet our stringent safety standards is immediately rejected. After blending, the final product undergoes another round of testing to ensure purity and safety.

The ideal storage conditions involve keeping the tea in an airtight container, placed in a cool, dark location - away from heat, humidity, and strong odors. When stored this way, most teas can retain their quality for up to 2 years. However, for the optimal taste experience, we would suggest consuming the tea within 6-12 months of purchase.

How much caffeine is in tea compared to coffee?
Tea provides a gentler caffeine boost compared to coffee. While a cup of coffee typically contains between 95–200 mg of caffeine, tea ranges from about 15–70 mg, depending on the type. Tea’s caffeine is complemented by L-theanine, which encourages calm focus without giving you the jitters—making it an ideal choice for work or study.
